ABOUT PIC 3 SCOTT REESE PD.JPG

Scott Reese, Program Director

Scott Reese has been an urban missionary for over 40 years serving in various impoverished south Chicagoland areas. He has a B.S. Degree in Pastoral Theology, and a Masters of Ministry Degree from Moody Bible Institute. (See more of Scott’s background in the “History” section of this website).

Visit Scott’s personal website https://scottreese.org to learn more about the challenges he and his family has been facing the past few years. (& also for information about the retirement fund the church he founded has set up)

Scott Reese has been leader in Race Relations and has been involved in cross cultural ministry for over 40+ years. He has hosted and spoken at many events through the years promoting race relations (example here)

Scott has had the privilege to serve as Pastor or Founding Pastor of an African American Church (New Life) for over 40 years and also speak on a monthly/regular basis at a Chinese Church (South Suburban Chinese Mandarin Church) for 30 years.

Of course we also would love the opportunity to come to your church to share the ministries of Christ Cares whether it be a quick 5 minute update with a missionary table or taking the whole service time with testimonies, a brief message on the need to minister to the poor along with how to help Christ Cares with this mission.

You can view some of Scott’s sermons HERE.

A special sermon Scott recently preached, We need to Encourage Each Other. We encourage you to invest a half hour and watch this sermon to be encouraged.

JAMIL WILLIS, SERVING THE HOMELESS

Rev. Jay teaches a weekly Christian Based AA/NA program. He also delivers food to needy families on Tuesdays and assists with our Thursday Bible Study and Lunch.

We feel so blessed to have Rev. Jay on our team. He is a gifted minister with a HUGE HEART TO HELP THE HOMELESS. Our Homeless Ministry has gone through some significant changes this past year with the pandemic impacting the homeless population and how we can minister to them, as well as us losing Rev. Sam Williams who was teaching our large Thursday Homeless Bible Class, and Scott’s more limited availability due to his wife’s health crisis… that is a lot of huge changes in a year and we are grateful for all the hard work Rev. Jay made to keep our outreach to the homeless meaningful and strong.

Rev. Jamil Willis also serves as an area pastor and Prison Chaplin. We are also blessed to have his beautiful family involved as faithful volunteers.
